Why Support OIEF?
We believe that great school districts make for great communities. Orcas is a wonderful but small community and, as such, the funding from our tax dollars sometimes falls short of the needs. We currently have remarkable class offerings and a highly skilled staff. We want to make our schools financially viable, our programs safe from the ever- changing economics of the state government.
Help is needed now, more than ever, from the private sector to maintain these hard-earned achievements. WHY NOW? Because we are facing the tough fiscal challenge of incorporating unfunded federally mandated programs into an ever-tightening budget. It threatens everything from basics (books and materials) to high school electives and staffing.
